Top of Europe – the Swiss Alps from a bird’s eye view

The mountains are my great passion 😍 … for me the only place where you can feel the limitless freedom. Usually we are equipped with a backpack and hiking boots, this time we needed snowshoes and sunglasses 😊

How come? Whenever the government announces any measures restricting freedom, a very oppressive feeling comes up in me and I feel the need to break out. So I scoured the internet after a short trip to the mountains. I had been fascinated by the Jungfrau Region in Switzerland for a long time, but after an inguinal hernia operation, Sven was not quite ready for longer hikes.

By chance I discovered sightseeing flights by helicopter or sport plane over various regions of Switzerland.

Let’s go whole hog… we thought 😉 and booked at short notice for the weekend a 70-minute helicopter flight over the Swiss Alps including a glacier landing and aperitif 😍

At first there was quite a bit of excitement. I don’t have a fear of heights or a fear of flying, but you don’t sit in a helicopter every day either 😉 The tension evaporated very quickly as we approached the mountains. I was particularly impressed by the flight along the imposing north face of the Eiger and the view of the Jungfraujoch (Top of Europe). My absolute highlight, however, was the landing on the Petersgrat Glacier, where we were served a small aperitif and enjoyed the magnificent view of Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa in complete seclusion.

With the sightseeing flight over the Alps, I fulfilled a long-awaited dream 😍
