Honestly? When we arrived in Tulum we wanted to leave immediately 🙈 It was loud and hectic and had nothing to do with the relaxing break that we had hoped for. However, since we couldn’t rebook on such short notice, we decided to stay and make the best of it. If you know a few things in advance, a stay in Tulum can be a great experience 😊

As beautiful as it was on the beaches of Mexico… after a few days I suddenly had the urge to immerse myself in some of the country’s culture and history. Where can you do that better than in one of the numerous Mayan ruins of the Yucatán Peninsula. We had already visited the most famous Mayan site Chichén Itzá 10 years ago, this time we were drawn to the jungle.

To be honest, Isla Mujeres was of little importance for my planned trip through Yucatán and yet, surprisingly, it became my Mexico highlight 😍

Dream beaches, Maya temples, nachos and tequila … we have been looking forward to that and much more for weeks. Well not quite, I gave up tequila years ago 🤪
